Is it Sexy? | Should Men Wear Turtleneck?
I feel like a turtleneck dress that’s long-sleeved and covers your entire body but is tight fitting is so much sexier than boobs spilling out, you know? So I guess I’m more into being classy sexy versus apparent sexy. —- Shailene Woodley
Should men wear turtlenecks? That’s one question that has flooded the internet and strangely, opinions are split on this topic. What do you think? Put it in the comment section. Ladies, do you think it is sexy seeing your man in a turtleneck or men, do you think wearing this tailored piece makes you look good or not? Well, hold on to your answer while I expand my thoughts.
Towards the end of last year, I did a video with Styl’d on trends that need to go with 2018 and I don’t think we for once thought that men should stop wearing turtlenecks. In fact, I want us to wear it more. A man should have at least one turtleneck in his closet for many reasons one of which is the class and glamour it adorns you with. It is an absolute master class piece of clothing.
The New York Post‘s poetic waxing shed light on this very subject: “stylish guys are embracing turtlenecks” right and left these days. Lots of celebrities from Sean Diddy Combs to Ayobami Ige embrace wearing turtle next because of the unique style and confidence it exudes in them as you can see in the pictures.
So How do you wear it ? Well let me explain.
How to wear Turtlenecks
- Pick the right size.
As I have always said, it’s very important to have the right size for anything you wear. You don’t want to wear something too small and look like a sausage or too big and share similarities with a hot air balloon. The fit is always kind and to get that sexy look you need to have the right size.
2. Choose your Style.
The good thing about turtlenecks is that it is a versatile piece of clothing. You can either dress it up for an Oscar-ready look or dressed down for a casual night out. You can wear turtlenecks in any style. You need to make sure to match with the right colours. You can check out a casual look in my grad post
It’s surprising to know that lots of men shy away from wearing turtlenecks but I’m not surprised that lots of women embrace wearing it. Rightly because two of my three turtlenecks were given to me by my girlfriend(thanks Babe), and women understand style.
So, therefore, men, take that risk and invest in a turtleneck for your closet for that next step in your style evolution because it’s Sexy and Hot. If you don’t believe me, ask manrepeller.
